I'm still getting used to the new format and am finding it a clumsy way to disseminate information. So far I'm not sold on it. The departmentalizing of topics makes the board more difficult for me to use. When there is a need for a quick response to a post, I don't think that this format is as meaningful as the old one. For example, at the Home site the banner in the News section at the top just about the lost cat just isn't very meaningful. How many people even saw the News flash? Many people will miss it because the news item does not stay on screen - it flashes. Maybe some people don't care about a family's lost cat but they might care that a bear is roaming a neighborhood. The previous site minus the cukoos worked better for me.

Rusty, I understand that this setup IS different; however, this very format is used extensively on many non-sponsored websites. Categorizing SHOULD make it easier to choose the topic to read or discuss. Previously, a topic would seem to get lost quickly as people would post newer comments unrelated to that particular subject. Also, the 'Quick Reply' just below the most recent post would seem to be all that one would need to respond instantly. Perhaps a 'Neighborhood News' or 'Breaking News' category would be useful? I must say though, that I will not go back to the old style. Without paying an annual fee, there was virtually no way to stop the 'cuckoos' from posting sheer garbage under countless 'names', and considering I do this voluntarily, I was not about to spend more money for a simple discussion board, nor spend time trying to keep things orderly and relevant. Please give it a bit more time. I have used this kind of forum elsewhere both as a poster and reader, and after a while had no problem finding the thread or topic I wished to use. p.s. I do wish the 'NEWS' did not flash, but I have not yet found a way to keep it static. Thanks for the feedback.

I like the new format. Yes it is a little "different" to use but not that difficult. Actually I like it being a little more challenging. Hopefully it will slow down some of the silliness of people( I am trying to be kind here) lol. It will also give the administrator some idea of who the silly people are. I still have a hard time with people that have an opinion and are afraid to put a name behind it...but everyone is different. From being an old time resident of Millerstown I can say that news traveled fast in the old days before the forum was created. People probably do not have to go to the forum to hear about a bear or missing cat. You put a lot of time and thought into it for free and I applaud that. I just feel angry that a couple of egos and alter egos ruined it for everyone. Keep up the good work. Thanks administrator.

To the administrator - my primary use of the forum is to stay aware of what is going on in town. I'm a recent import to Millerstown, do not attend the Methodist church (I'm Lutheran and attend church out of the area) am a senior and just don't know a lot of people. So word of mouth that happens among the established or related townspeople doesn't happen for me. And, administrator, thanks for being patient with me. I have a lot of respect for anyone who assumes the forum job.

I've become used to the new format and like it now. I'm wondering why the site is very quiet. Isn't there anything to discuss about the happenings in Millerstown. The old site was pretty busy. I'd like to report that the missing black cat from a prominent Millerstown family was found and happily returned to its home. I was happy to see that the car show was a success and good use of the community park area. Any news on the missing person reported elsewhere on this site?

This morning on the Juniata Parkway on my way to Newport there was a lot of police activity at the previous Hawk's place - several state police cars and other emergency vehicles, young people sitting around. Does anyone know what happened there?
